I remember going to the lake---my brother Fritzie was married to Barbara---and I was invited to stay at the lake in the summer. And Gracie, Penny and I would go out in the row boat to where the lillies were and we would stay for hours floating in the intertubes and laugh and talk. Your mother was always happy, smiling and so smart---Fond memories for all of us---May you receive peace in your heart knowing she is at peace with our Blessed Father and all of her loved ones. Someday you will be all together again---but remember her spirit will always be with you---this Mother's Day will be a hard one---but always remember she is near you and has never left you---only her body is gone Pbut not her spirit---

I was so saddened to hear of your loss. Your mom was a wonderful woman and mother who was always warm and positive. She is embedded in my memories from early education and beyond through our many social gatherings during college and early adult years. My deepest sympathies to you all.

Steve, Eric, Jeff and Heather,
I am so very sorry to hear of Penny's passing. I had the honor of working with her at Edison Elementary in Grandview. I will always remember how kind and welcoming she was to me when I first came to Edison in 1984. Her warm smile and sparkling eyes made me feel a part of the "Edison family" immediately. Penny loved children and was always their strongest advocate. She touched so many lives and I believe made us all better people. She will be truly be missed by everyone who knew her.

To The Abbot Family:
So sorry about your mother. She was indeed a terrific person who worked and raised the bar for so many of our youths today. I hope that everyone who learned from her will carry her legacy on. May you find comfort through the happy memories that she leaves behind.

Steve and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Penny's passing. I remember when we bought your home on Farleigh Road in Upper Arlington in 1972 and we were so surprised that we had bought a home from Lynn Bradford's (our classmate) sister-in-law and brother-in-law. I know that it must have been a long 10 years for your family taking care of Penny with Alzheimer's. She was too young to have such a bad disease. I know she will be missed by you, the family and those eight grandkids. I bet she was a wonderful grandma. I will always remember her quick, beautiful smile and how easily she gave it. I'm glad she is at peace now, but I know she will be missed. We are thinking of you. Lynne and Jeff Brown

Abbot Family, I am so sorry to hear of Penny's death!! I was blessed to work with Penny when she was a guidance counselor and was touched by her kind and caring nature. She was always an advocate for children and believed in their goodness and their potential!! I love the comment about how she lived by the golden rule because that is how I remember Penny, as well as that beautiful smile of hers and those sparkling eyes that also smiled, as she engaged children in activities to enhance their self esteem. My thoughts and prayers are with you!! Tamora Biandudi

Steve, Eric, Jeff, Heather and Families:
We are so sorry to hear of Penny passing away. Penny and Steve were always like a second set of parents to our Grandview crew growing up. Penny was always the biggest supporter, photographer, and scorekeeper for all of our rec league sports growing up. Steve was always coaching and always had a good one liner to make us all laugh. Truely great parents that we all enjoyed growing up with. Penny will be missed by so many people.
You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

Steve, Eric, Jeff, Heather and families,
We are so sorry for your loss. Penny was a wonderful person and a good neighbor the last 16 years. We "shared" the birdfeeder in the back between our garages, and I will keep it filled as she once did. Love and hugs,

Mrs. Abbot was one of the most nourishing, compassionate, and encouraging people to ever be in my life.. She pulled me aside as a teenager and told me that I was well capable, and most deserving to be a success story.. I would see her now and then and she would always check in to ensure I was on the right path.. I will always be grateful for her..Thank you Mrs Abbot, because you always put kids first, and you were a true advocate of mine.. RIP sweet lady!!
