Phillip Howitz Obituary
Phillip Frank "Phil" Howitz, 86, of Galena died Monday morning, October 16, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on October 14, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late Frank and Eltie (Mason) Howitz. Phil served in the United States Airforce and was a graduate of The Ohio State University. He married Joyce Marie Blake on January 11, 1963. They were married for 52 years before her passing July 16, 2015. Phil will be missed by his children: Michelle (Russ) Dearth, Marty (Kate) Howitz, Meghan Howitz, Meisha (Dan) Conlon, Malena Howitz, Morgan Howitz, Miles (Sarah) Howitz; grandchildren Michael Conlon, Hannah Dearth, Ryan Conlon, Kayleigh Conlon, Carson Dearth, Grace Howitz, and Maverick Howitz; ½ brother Ron (Hermine) Howitz; and niece nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents and loving wife he was preceded in death by his sons Michael and Mason. Private services for the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral home, Sunbury. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
