Rebecca Douglas Obituary

Douglas, Rebecca
1965 - 2018
Rebecca Ann (Traikoff) Douglas, 53, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Northland High School in 1983. Later, she received a degree in Sociology from Ohio University. Rebecca always had a special place in our heart for the disadvantaged. After graduation, she entered social work centering on deeply troubled teenaged girls. She impacted the lives of many of these young girls. It was through her career that she met her future husband Steve Douglas, whom she married in 1994. Family meant everything to Rebecca. When her two sons came along, she gladly gave up her promising career to be a stay at home mom. She loved her sons more than her life. Our last Thanksgiving Day together was one of the best despite her illness, Becky, sweetie, we will love you forever. Rebecca is survived by her sons, Ryan and Noah; parents, Jordan and Sofia Traikoff; sister, Debbie (Ken) Howard; brother, Matthew; beloved Aunt Donna Clauder and cousins, Zach and Mike; Uncle Ivan (Liljana) Kolikonovski and cousins, Silvia and Thomas; and former husband but always close and caring friend, Steven Douglas. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Mirce and Helen Traikoff, as well as her maternal grandparents Pasko and Trajanka Kolikonovski. A viewing will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 4171 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43227, between 4-7pm Friday, January 4, 2019. Funeral service to be conducted at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 South Sunbury Rd., Westerville, Ohio 43081 at 10AM Saturday, January 5, 2019. Christian burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany, Ohio.

Many prayers to Don, Sophia, Ryan, Noah, Matt and Deb. As believers we are promised in The Lord's word that her leaving this Earth is not the end...but only the beginning. Her pain and suffering is no more and has went home and if I know her, she did a dance with Jesus upon finally gazing upon His glory and His ultimate love.
