Robert Bamburg Obituary

Bamburg Robert Wesley Bamburg, passed away July 22, 2016 at The James Cancer Hospital. "Bob" was born in Newark, Ohio on April 26, 1950. Loving husband and friend to his wife of 43 years, he leaves behind the former Debra Ann Mahaffey. Bob and Deb were high school sweethearts and were the love of each other's lives. Bob graduated from Watkins Memorial High School in 1969 and attended The Ohio State University. Bob and Deb were living in Newark and he grew up in Kirkersville. He was the owner of Bamburg construction and was a master carpenter. He loved to fly and had a private pilots license. He was a master pool player and an avid reader. Preceded in death by his parents Mary and Emmitt Wilkes, brother Stanley Wilkes, sister Penny Wilkes Dixon and brother Leland Peck. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Condolences may be left at dispatch.com/obituaries. Contributions may be made in Bob's name to the James Cancer Hospital.

When I was growing up in Pataskala, I used to play pool with Bob. He was a great guy. Many years later, Bob and Deb used to visit a restaurant I used to work at. Bob had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all. My prayers are with Deb and Bob's families.
