I met Robbie at the Junk yard lounge in 1995. I had my #94 Robbie Dean t-shirt on and my wife Nancy had on her #21 John Vallo t-shirt . We were watching the races from that night on tape. Robbie sat down next to me and bought me a beer. He then proceeded to tell me how his car drove that night and how he made a late lap pass of Vallo to win. He tought it was pretty cool that my wife and I liked different drivers. He treated me like he had known me for years not minutes. I could not believe how cool he was. For years after that I always went to CMS to chear for the Big Bird! God Bless you Robbie and Thanks for touching my life the way you did. John Carr

I was watching the Lifelock 400 race last night with my family when I mentioned your name. I asked my daughter to locate you on her computer. I had heard that you will fighting cancer. I told her that I hadn't see you in years. That I wanted to go see you today. She replied a few moments later that you were gone. What a shock. You will be missed. I'm sorry I didn't get to say good bye!. But that would have been so sad. I will always remember the fun we had in the early eighties. My children loved you. They still talk about the rides they took in your car. My parents drove from Pa. every weekend to watch you race at Shady Bowl and Columbus Speedway. They really loved to see you win. I remember the first time I meet you. You had finished in 2nd place 32 times. I talked you into putting AMSOIL in your car. You began a winning streak that will never be seen again. You had the team that couldn't be beat. You will be missed but not forgotten. I'm sure there will be a Robbie Dean memorial race at the local tracks every 4th of July. You were a shining star. I'll never forget the night your engine blew up while practicing at Kill-Kare Speedway. You got in Bobby Edwards car and lapped the field in 35 laps. They Blacked flagged you for running faster then you qualified. But you made a car that never won a race into a winner. You could have been a NASCAR super star. But it was the local fans that you cared about. You chose to please them instead of yourself. Every time I watch a race I'll be thinking of you. Good Bye and God Bless you.

My dad walked into my work a few days ago and said, "Well I just found out a good racing buddy of mine passed away today." He proceeded to tell me stories, each one accompanied by a reminiscent smile, about Robbie, with details like "... He was always a gentle, laid-back kind of guy..." and I found myself laughing with him about these memories of his kind friend I had never known. Even a girl such as myself who had never met Robbie, I see how he's impacted so many people, including my dad, for the better. So thanks, Robbie, for giving us all a smile.

Big Rob,
I will never forget you. I will never forget the nights at CMS and being so proud to be a part of your legacy there. I am so thankful to have been a friend to your son during all these years. I know that whereever, and whenever I see the number 94, or Big Bird, that I will think fondly of you and the times I spent with you. You taught us so much, about racing, about cars, about PBR (haha) and I owe you back some of the greatest years of my life! Riding in your rig on kids night all those times, is still a story I tell. Even today to my little ones. I am proud to know you.
Rest easy, Big Bird.

DEDICATED TO MY HERO,MY BEST FRIEND,AND MOST OF ALL MY UNCLE... Uncle, Many years ago, I shared my first birthday with a man that was a stranger to me. As time went by, that man would become known to me as Uncle, a man I could only aspire to be..... Although far away, Uncle is special to me, he taught me to love life, be who,I am and most importantly, take care of the ones I love no matter what power I believe in from above. Today is dark cold and rainy, some would say it was appropriate for the day, for today Uncle has been strickend with cancer, and is in a fight for his life....He wouldnt want us to morn or be sad he would simple say this..... "Live for today, there is no afterlife", And when I'm gone, no need for masses or funerals, just celebrate the day, love and memories will keep me alive, and I will never be far away Uncle will always be with me, in my heart is where he will stay and at night when i wish upon as star, my wish will be for Uncle...thank you for sharing,ur life with all of us I LOVE YOU BIG BIRD

We were so sorry to hear about Robbie. My husband & I watched him many times. That Black & Yellow 94 will always be remembered. But one thing even more memorible was when Robbie spoke to our son on the PA at Kilkare Speedway. It's a racing moment my son will never forget. He only new Robbie as Big Bird and how good of a driver he was. So for him to tell my son he was doing a good job ment allot to him. Rest in Peace "Big Bird"

The Dean Family,
Although I do not know any of you please accept my heartfelt prayers and condolences.
I lost my Husband four years ago and he never in 25 plus years missed a Saturday or Sunday night to root on the "Big Bird", the good ole guy, everyone could relate to.I have pictures from the Kids Night at CMS and who of course did all the kids want to ride with , you guessed it the Big Bird. I hope that on his journey Robbie and the guys can once again talk racing (especially with my husband). Please remember all the good times and what a good person .
You are all in my thought at this time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
