Robert R. "Robbie" Porter II

Robert Porter Obituary

PORTER Robert "Robbie" R. Porter II, of Centerburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at St. Ann's Hospital after an extended illness. Born on April 4, 1965, in Mt. Vernon, he was a graduate of Northridge High School in 1983 and received a bachelor's degree in Agronomy and Turf Management from The Ohio State University. Before his illness he was the superintendent of Wyandot Golf Course in Centerburg. He was a true fan of Buckeye football and running marathon races. An avid traveler, he spent time throughout Europe and other foreign locations. His love for travel led him to obtain a pilot's license. Both sincere and compassionate, he will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, and love of life. As one who liked to have fun, he enjoyed his music loud. He was most proud of his daughter and had a great love for his family and friends. Survived by his daughter, Adrienne; parents, Debra (Steve) Arter of Centerburg, Robert (Millie) Porter of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandmother, Mary Ann Arter of Croton; brother, Bryan (Deena) Arter of Centerburg; niece and nephews, Samuel, Rigby, and Cameron; aunt, Nancy (James) Walsh and cousin, Caitlin of New Jersey; other loved members of the Spearman and Arter Family, as well as a host of good friends. Friends may call Friday 5–8 p.m. at DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SRs 3 at 61, Sunbury, where service will be Saturday 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Hartford Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to The Ohio State Universities Brain Tumor Research Fund, through the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
