DORN Ruth Audrey (Gossard) Dorn, 99, of London, died Sunday morning, February 17, 2008, at Sisters in London. She was born in Madison County on February 6, 1909, a daughter of Fred and Lucy (Ford) Gossard. Ruth taught music privately and in the Miami Trace School System. She was a graduate of Midway High School, where she was the oldest living graduate of the school; graduated from Greenfield Business School; attended Ohio University and Cedarville College; was a member of the Midway Presbyterian Church, where she was the organist for over 65 years; was Past Worthy Matron and organist of Lucy Counts Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; and formerly was a member of the Republican Women's Glee Club, where she also was an accompanist. She also played for the silent movies for many years. Ruth's music brought a "song" into the hearts of many. She could praise God through her finger tips. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Ruth (Dennis) Conard of Columbus, Mary Kay (John J. Jr.) Jefferson of West Lake, Ohio; son, Gary Trent Dorn of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; step-daughter-in-law, Jewel "Pat" Dorn, of New Carlisle, Ohio; grandchildren, Hilary Paige (Adolfo) Loustaunau, Timothy Alexander Conard, John Jackson Jefferson III, Jill Elizabeth Jefferson, Rachel Brein (Eli) Martin, Stacey Melissa (Dan) Foreman, Karen (William) Johnson; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Middleton of Jamestown, Ohio; numerous close Dorn relatives, beloved sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband H. Kenneth Dorn, son Carl Frederick Dorn, step-son Marvin Dwight Dorn, step-granddaughter Carol Ann, sisters Jenny Dixon, Virgie Stewart and Mabel Gossard, brothers Joseph, Russell, Carson, Roy, and Stanley Gossard. Ruth's family invites friends to call at the RADER-LYNCH AND DODDS FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. High St., London, Ohio, on Friday, February 22, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Midway Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Randy Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are asked to be made in Ruth's memory to the Midway Presbyterian Church, 13681 Main St. SE, Sedalia, Ohio 43151.
