Ruth Anne Yoakam

Yoakam Ruth Anne Yoakam, 72, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Fort Wayne. Born in Columbus, OH, Ruth graduated from Big Walnut High School in 1960. She went on to complete her Bachelor's degree from Fort Wayne Bible College in 1967, and then completed her Master's degree from Wheaton Graduate School in 1972. She used her education as a teacher, secretary, and as a leader when she served as Dean of Woman at Ohio Christian University. She always enjoyed serving the Lord in the various capacities, especially working with children, and serving her church. She was a member of North Highlands Church of Christ. Surviving are her brother, Wendell (Jerri) Yoakam of Centerburg, OH; niece, Erin (Jeff) Yoakam of Centerburg, OH; nephew, Mark (Ellen) Yoakam of Mansfield, OH; great-nephew, Charlie Yoakam; special friends, Fred and Nancy Lesser of Fort Wayne, and Don and Kay Craighead of Fort Wayne. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and S. Annabelle Yoakam. Service is 10 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at North Highlands Church of Christ, 1414 Archer Ave., with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also at D.O. MCCOMB SONS LAKESIDE PARK FUNERAL HOME, 1140 Lake Ave., on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. Burial in Trenton Cemetery near Sunbury, OH on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Woodburn Christian Children's Home or North Highlands Church of Christ.
