Sally Mowery Obituary

Mowery (Dollenmayer) Sally "Sara" Ann Mowery (Dollenmayer), 71, passed away unexpectedly and quietly in her sleep on Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born to the late George and Catherine Dollenmayer on December 7, 1941. Sally graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio, in 1960, and attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. Sally enjoyed several professions from dentistry, owning an antique store, to floral design and management. Sally did not seek titles, accolades or awards. She felt called to do God's work, daily inspiring and empowering others to see their potential. Sally embraced each person she met with love, turning them into her family, earning her the title of "Mother Hen." Sally shared a deep connection and passion for animals. She was preceded in death by her husband William Mowery and a son Jeffrey Zang. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Zang Cordray and Lisa Janusz (Joey); son, Daniel Janusz (Kerry); sister, Mary Ellen Kinnaman (Ron); nieces and nephews, Cathy Black (Joe), Kim Rose and Tony Coletta (Dawna); and special daughter, "Rain Shelton." A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18 at 4 p.m. at the home of Mary Ellen Kinnaman, 3661 Cheshire Road, Delaware, OH 43015. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Morrison School at 139 Terrace Drive, Bristol, VA or to the Bristol Humane Society at 6 6th Street, Bristol, TN.

I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Sally and bill over the years and even as Bill passed, she kept strong in her faith that soon she would see him again and spend eternity in heaven . I look forward to seeing them both again. She ran the good race and fought the good fight and she ultimately won. I am a bit poorer today and saddened as I have lost a very special friend for a short time. May God bless and keep you and your family as you grieve the passing of you mother and grandmother.
