Terry Thompson Obituary

Thompson, Terry
Terry Scott Thompson, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend passed July 31, 2017. He lived a life of grace, love and humor. A life long resident of Upper Arlington, Ohio he felt life was complete once he met Teresa and had his son, Taos and daughter, Townsend. He loved them unconditionally. He was a coach, a scout leader and loved to cook. He taught by example and faced adversity with dignity and hope. He never knew a stranger, laughed easily and was filled with a sense of optimism that was contagious. He loved the outdoors, music of all kinds, especially the Grateful Dead, and the author, Hunter S. Thompson. He was a world class skier which took him to Wyoming and Colorado to live, where he made life long friends, before settling back in UA. He had a taste for adventure which left him stranded on Grand Teton Mountain for 3 days in a blizzard and plucked from the Colorado River on a whitewater rafting trip. His compassion for others led him to 20+ years volunteering with Special Olympics. He was a third generation IBEW electrician for over 30 years before retiring due to an illness – MSA - which cut his life short. He is survived by his wife, Teresa; children, Taos (16) and Townsend (14); siblings, Tammy (Rick) Thompson and Tim (Kim) Thompson; nieces, Sarah and Megan; and mother, Jeanne Thompson whom he adored and from whom he learned the art of love and loyalty. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Paul Thompson.

Our thoughts and prayers go out for the Thompson family. Terry will be truly missed around the lacrosse fields supporting and encouraging all the boys and in particular Taos. I will never forget all of his help organizing and setting up the snack tent when we traveled to lacrosse tournaments. He was truly a gentle soul and loved giving to others. God bless and may you find peace in your faith.

I give My condolences to Terry's Wife Teresa, and family I have never had the pleasure of meeting his immediate family. Terry was my local 683 apprentice, and worked with me Many years ago. We drifted apart over the years, but our time working together was a pleasure, and is well remembered.
