Tom L. Startzman

Startzman Tom L. Startzman, age 87, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at his residence in Springboro, OH. He was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Catharine, parents Clyde and Ruth (Seaney) Startzman and siblings Jane (Proctor), Lois (Hughes), and Clyde, Jr. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Cathy) Startzman; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Ian) Buchholtz and Christopher Startzman; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Buchholtz. Tom proudly served our country in the Army before graduating from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1954. He then embarked upon a career in public service, culminating in 20 years as Clerk of the Supreme Court of Ohio. After retiring, he followed his love of animals as a volunteer at the Columbus Zoo. Tom was an avid fan of Ohio State football and spent fall Saturdays cheering on his beloved Buckeyes. Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, January 16, at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A graveside service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Monday, January 16, at Kingwood Memorial Park. Mark Dettmer, officiating. Donations may be made to World Wildlife Fund in Tom's name.
