Born in Wheeling, he was an avid railroad enthusiast and loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his professional career in Columbus, he returned to Wheeling to enjoy his retirement years. He was a member of the Edgington Lane (Wheeling) Public School reunion committee, American Legion Post 614, the North American Rockwell Management Club, and was an inaugural member of the American Air Museum Historical Society, Duxford, UK. I was saddened to learn, just within the last few days, of Bill's death. I worked with Bill at The Ohio State University and had great respect for his abilities and admired his calm, cheerful, and helpful manner. He was a great asset to the University. My condolences to his family and other friends on your loss.
