Bob Vance Obituary

AMORY – Bob Vance, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. Born in Pontotoc County, he was a son of the late George and Bertha Mae Vance. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church and attended school in Pontotoc County.
He was formerly employed by Gilmore Puckett Lumber Co., Cramco, Tomlin Bumper Shop, IMC/AMICOR of Aberdeen, Amwood Products and Dick Millender's Farm. He enjoyed fishing with Coach Bender. He loved working with the Four Musketeers (Leon Sykes, Coach Bender, A.J. Parks and Molly Bell Moore). He was easy going and loved watching his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his brother, Frank Vance (Lois) of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Ida Alice Crump of Amory and Lillian Powell of Canton, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Earline Vance and Fannie Vance, both of Amory; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Vance and Calvin Vance; and one sister, Rennie Amison.
A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Darden & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. George Vance officiating. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery.
His body will lie in repose at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
