Edward Lee Kendall, 83, left this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tupelo. Edward was born October 10, 1941, on the Punke family farm in El Paso, Illinois to his parents, Dale and Mildred Punke Kendall. He graduated from Booneville High School in 1960 and then attended Northeast Community College. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Graybar Electric in Memphis, Tennessee after 35 years. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Booneville. He married Ruby Jean Prather Williams on February 14, 1975, and remained married until her death in 2003. He enjoyed co-founding the Booneville High School Buddies, playing cards with friends, watching western movies and Fox News, collecting knives, and being an avid sports fan, especially Northeast and Ole Miss. He was also a Civil War buff. His greatest pleasure came from eating out and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his step-son, Steve Williams (Linda); two brothers, Ray Kendall (Pat) and Larry Kendall; three grandchildren, Amanda Chism (Jeff), Amber Treadaway and Zack Williams (Laura); nine great-grandchildren, Hunter Chism (Hailey), Peyton Chism, Coltton Chism, Claudia Chism, Daxton Chism, Jude Treadaway, Kade Treadaway, Brantley Williams, and Avery Williams; a nephew, Steve Barnett; a niece, Leanna Gargus (Rickey); a great-niece, Lauren Steele (Michael); and several special cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a sister, Shirley Barnett; a brother-in-law, Jerry Barnett; a niece, Ginger Howard; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Kendall.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at McMillan Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Bro. Grady Guntharp officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Baldwyn, MS. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Zack Williams, Hunter Chism, Jude Treadaway, Peyton Chism, Coltton Chism, Kade Treadaway, Brantley Williams, Daxton Chism, and Steve Barnett.
