Gary Messer Obituary

Gary Lynn Messer, 55, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County in New Albany. He was born January 11, 1961, in New Albany to Chester Lee Messer, Sr., and Edith Jackson Messer. He was a member of Palestine Baptist Church and worked at Ashley Furniture Co.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at United Funeral Service with Bro. Marty Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife: Cindy Williams Messer; 3 sons: Gary Brandon Messer (Leslie) of Etta, Steven Allen Messer (Chasady) of Etta and Daniel C. J. Messer of Pontotoc; 7 sisters: Helen Hill (G. A.) of Keownville, Linda Roberts (Kenneth) of Keownville, Cathy Hall (Mike) of Myrtle, Brenda Watts (Donald) of Keownville, Sherry Smith (Nicky) of Pontotoc, Annette Hudson of New Albany and Vicki Dillard of New Albany; and 4 grandchildren: Haley Alexis Messer, Katie Brooke Messer, Joshua Gabriel Messer and David Brandon Messer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Paul David Messer and Chester Lee Messer, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Glynn Moody, Travis Pound, Paul Patterson, Tim McKenzie, Ray Grant, Tony Hudson, Chad Sewell, and Cody Watts.
