Jimmy Dale Rooker

1989 - 2018

Jimmy Dale Rooker, 29, died suddenly, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at NMMC in Tupelo after an apparent sudden heart attack. He was born July 17, 1989 in Jackson, MS to David Allen Rooker and Patsy Wilda Forrester Rooker. Jimmy Dale lived all his life south of Okolona in a place often called Rookerville. He was fitted with a pacemaker at a very young age and dealt with heart issues all his life. Jimmy Dale was an easy-going, calm soul and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He enjoyed his family, helping anyone and making every day count. He was a member of Egypt Baptist Churh but attended Mount Olive in the last few years.

A celebration of life service will be at 3 PM, today, July 30, 2018 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Okolona with Bro. Dempsey Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Boone's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM to service time at the church on Friday only. Holland Funeral Directors, Okolona Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his father, David Rooker of Okolona; his Nanny and Pop, Bobbie and Thomas Rooker of Okolona; his sister, Linda Rooker Patterson of Fulton; his uncle, Mike Rooker of Okolona; 2 nieces, Amber and Autumn Patterson, both of Fulton; his girlfriend of 2 years, Amy Emerson of Okolona; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy and grandparents, Jeanette and George Forrester.

Pallbearers will be Micah Rooker, Michael Rooker, Dr. Joe Jackson, Daniel Tackett, Dobie Poyner, and Allen Rooker.
