Luther Myrl Davis

1955 - 2023

Luther Myrl Davis, 68, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home. Luther Myrl as most folks called him was kind hearted, loved his chickens, he loved to fish, he loved hunting but his favorite kind of hunting was rabbit hunting. He loved spending time with his grandsons and he had several close friends that he spent time with. Luther helped raise half the kids in the community and he wouldn't have had it any other way! He was a truck driver and a Baptist. Luther will be remembered for his kindness and patience.

Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. with Bro. Chester Chism officiating. Burial will be in Ellistown Cemetery.

Luther is survived by his son, Todd Davis of Alpine; grandsons, Hunter Davis and Tanner Davis both of Alpine; great- granddaughter, Ivy Hazel Davis of Biggersville; his ex-daughter-in-law, Vickie Davis of Alpine; sister, Tammy Pannell (Carlos) of Alpine; niece, Jessica James (Brett) of Alpine; nephew, Jacob Pannell (Kensie) of Alpine; three great-nieces and a great-nephew; uncle, Doug Davis; host of community grandkids whom he loved; his close cousins, Waymon and Randy Hampton; host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia "Gin" and Arthur 'Tater" Davis; both sets of grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tanner Davis and Hunter Davis along with Gary Briggs, Sam Benjamin, Austin Schallock, Randy Hampton, Josh Bishop, Derrick Owens, James Briggs, Jacob Pannell and Zack Pannell.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home.
