Ruby Keys

1936 - 2014

NEW ALBANY – Mrs. Ruby Wade Keys was the first of nine children born to the late John Lee Wade and Lue Mae Jackson Wade of New Albany. She was born April 5, 1936, and departed this life on September 3, 2014. She was married to the late George Wesley Keys. To that union was born one child, the late Keenah C. Keys Dye.
Her educational experiences included a bachelor degree from Mississippi Industrial College and masters degree from the University of Mississippi.
Mrs. Keys's teaching experience spanned more than 30 years. She retired from the New Albany City Schools.
Mrs. Keys was a faithful member of the Oak Grove M.B. Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories two loving grandchildren, Charissa and Trinity Dye; a son-in-law, Ricky Dye; six sisters, Dorothy Wade, Shirley (Cottrell) Howell, Bettie Wade, Ann (Larry) Dykes of New Albany, Emmer (Alfred) Wells of Woodville and Grace (James) Suber of Calabash, N.C.; and two brothers, J.Q. (Lowonda) Wade and Dennis (Emma) Wade of New Albany.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at Foster and Son Funeral Home and later the family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Ingomar. Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Ingomar. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time. Services are entrusted to Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley.
