A native of Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late Frank Omillington Caperton, Sr. and the late Elise (Wisner) Caperton. Following graduation from Central High School, he joined the Air Force, which was the vehicle from which he proudly served our country. The important things to Mr. Caperton were God, family, and country, and he made sure that fulfilled his responsibilities to each of these to the very best of his ability. When his grandchildren came along, they certainly captured his heart. He enjoyed golfing and loved to listen to gospel music. The Gaithers were his favorite group. He was a devoted church member and was also a member of the American Legion Post #19.

He was the owner of Doogals Deli and truly enjoyed visiting with his customers. He will truly be missed by all of his family and friends.

Mr. Caperton left behind to cherish his memory three sons, Frank "Flip" (Lora) Caperton III of Murfreesboro, TN, Randy Russell and Michael Russell, both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two brothers, Samuel Eugene (Doris) Caperton of Santa Fe, TN and Paul Edward Caperton of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, JoAnn Caperton Berry of Columbia, TN; one very special sister-in-law, June Stockard Caperton of Columbia, TN; five grandchildren, Nate Russell, Josh Russell, Courtney Pittman, Amanda Caperton and Emily Caperton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Christopher Caperton and Charles Ferguson Caperton.

Pallbearers will include Eddie Woodall, Jimmy Woodall, Gene Downs, Larry Price, Todd Warf and Tony Thomson. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Dr. Mealer, Golfing friends from Stoney Brook Golf Course, Life Care Staff, and the Oncology Staff of Maury Regional Medical Center.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203-2003 or the First Church of the Nazarene, 1100 S. High Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
