Dr. Douthit was the best professor I had at MTSU. After taking my first marketing class with him, I signed up for all his classes. I really enjoyed his clever wit.

The Douthits were our next door neighbors on Whitehall and we could not have asked for better ones. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I had Dr. Douthit in marketing at Mtsu in the mid 70's. He was a great teacher, but more than that, just a great inspiration to his students. He will be missed. God bless the family of such a wonderful man.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Dr Douthit was one of my marketing class professors in 1974. I will always remember his wit and sense of humor.

Mark, I will always remember your dad as a smiling resident of the neighborhood. I wish you and all of yours the best of what the future has to bring.

Dr. Douthit touched many lives through his teaching and mentoring but he touched mine through the character and long time friendship of his son, Mark. Perhaps a man's most important legacy is his children. Cleary, he was a great man.

Jim will be missed as a teacher at the Tuesday Men's Bible Class at Kingwood Church of Christ. An
excellent teacher with thought provoking comments and observations. Condolences to his family. It was a blessing to have known him.

I had Dr. Douthit for a Credit Class at MTSU back in the 80s. He was a real man, a wonderful example of a teacher and a friend. In fact after leaving his class we saw each other a few times at the grocery and at Lowes and other places in town. I was honored when he called me at my home and invited me to his 85th birthday celebration at the church. It was June 26, 2016. Thankfully I brought my camera and will share a photo on his tribute page. Dr. Douthit was a good and devout man.
May his family be a peace knowing heaven will have its door wide open for him.
