Spencer Reed Obituary
Murfreesboro - Spencer Reed, age 99, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 surrounded by friends and family at his daughters home. He was native and life-long resident of Rutherford County. He was the manager and co-owner of the auto body devision of Byrn Motor Company. He was also a member of Bellwood Baptist Church.
Spencer was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude "Trudy" Summers Reed, brothers; Joe and Lonnie Reed, sister, Rebecca Azileen Welch and grandson, John David Harris. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Reed (Jimmy) Harris of Murfreesboro, grandchild, Virginia "Ginna" Marie Harris Watson, Great grandchildren; Chris Watson and Katelyn Watson, sister-in-law, Virginia Reed, nieces; Darlene (Michael) Bauer, H. Jean Reed, Claytie Jo (Spencer) Shipley, Risa Gail (Billy) Briggs, Dayna (Flinn) Echols and Becky (Jeff) Barr, nephews; Frankie Reed, David (Vicky) Reed, Dwain Reed, Eddy Reed and Ronnie Reed and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A chapel service for Spencer will be held at 11:00A.M. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Brother Sam Epley officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers and Dr. Peter DiCorleto, Dr. Robert Dray, Dr Wayne Westmoreland and Dr. Charles Goodman serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130; (615)893-2422. Love and prayers to all of Mr. Reed's family. Will miss seeing him at Church with Peggy and Jimmy but we are praying for the gift of true Peace, from our Lord. Mr. Reed is now safely Home in Heaven! What a blessing to know Christ Jesus welcomed him home. We send our love and prayers to all left in this World who will miss him until they meet him again.
