DEBRA SEYBOLD DODGE CITY: Debra "Debi" Sue Seybold, 71, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton, Kansas. She was born on Jan. 30, 1953, the daughter of Robert Martin and Bessie Harris in Scott City, Kansas. Debi was raised in Dighton and moved to Dodge City in 1979. As a Registered Nurse, she worked primarily as a Case Manager for the Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging. Debi was a caregiver at heart, always putting her family first and foremost in all she did, as she loved her husband, her three children, and numerous grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, reading and playing games with them, having tea parties, and decorating for holidays. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Seybold, whom she married on Jan.12, 1979, at Jetmore, Kansas. Debi is also survived by daughter, Carrie and her husband Charles Day of Manhattan, Kansas; son, Brett Seybold and his wife Shandria of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Bobi Linden of Halstead, Kansas, and Chris and her husband Dan Mumma of Dighton; nine grandchildrenKrystle Sandman, Chelsea Schmitt, Sierra Schmitt, Madison McElwain, Morgan Day, Payton Day, Lauren Day, Rhyker Seybold, and Dagny Seybold; her stepfather, John Heath of Dighton, and mother-in-law, Joan Seybold of Peoria, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Craig Martin, father-in-law Fran Seybold, and son Randy McElwain. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Dodge City, with Dusty Cookson officiating. There will be no public viewing as cremation has been Debi's wish. Friends and family may sign the register book Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
