JOYCE RAND DODGE CITY Joyce Eileen Rand, 88, died Monday, April 1, 2024 at SunPorch of Dodge City. She was born October 23, 1935 near Morganville, Kansas, the daughter of John Herbert and Anna Margaret (Damman) Kahrs. She was a graduate of Morganville High School and on July 23, 1954 she married Veryl Rand at Morganville. During their married life they lived in Osage City, Kansas, Minneapolis, Kansas, Clifton, Kansas and Dodge City. She was a homemaker and worked various jobs and enjoyed being outside and taking care of her flowers. Survivors include: a son, Mike Rand and wife Gina, Derby, Kansas; a daughter, Connie Shelton, Catawissa, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Kris Wood and wife Sue, Kenny Shelton and wife Kathi, Gentry Kaufman and husband Brandon, Darin Rand and wife Samantha and Dena Rand; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Veryl on December 21, 2014, a son, Kenneth Rand on September 19, 1984 and a brother, Herbert Kahrs. Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to SunPorch of Dodge City or the Clifton Senior Citizen's Center both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
