Alice Pauline Strickland (Nana) of Enterprise passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 surrounded by family at the home of her granddaughter. She was 78. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Pastor Johnny Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Level Plains First Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6 8 p.m. Alice was born September 20, 1938 in Coffee County. She was a retired school bus driver for the City of Enterprise and retired from Walmart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Strickland, daughter, Nelwyn Grissett, her parents: Emmett and Lettie Sullivan Waters; two sisters: Elinor Carmichael and Margaret Harrison; two brothers: Vernie Waters and Vernon Waters. Survivors include her granddaughter Tiffany Hope (Billy) of Daleville; Tiffany's three children: Christa Hughes, Colby Hope and Cameron Hope; Tiffany's father Donnie Grissett (Robbie); a son: Ned Strickland (Mary); Ned's children Brandon Strickland and Brittany Covell; Brittany's daughter: Sydney; three sisters: Bonnie Sellers, Francis Martin (Allen) and Patsy Smith; four brothers: Oliver Waters (Blanche), Paul Waters (Garian), John Waters (Saundra), Tom Waters. The family would also like to acknowledge Mandi Stephenson, Crystal Dean, Heather Brown, Phylliss Adkison and Jessica Costner (caregiver) who she considered granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
