Annie Mae Green Tharpe Annie Mae Green Tharpe, a resident of Blue Springs, died late Tuesday night, November 30, 2010, in the Dale Medical Center. She was 86. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2010, in the Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Blue Spr-ings with Elder Ross Plow-den officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Tharpe was born and reared in Blue Springs, Alabama, daughter of the late James Alfred Green and Annie Bell Rogers Green. She lived all her adult lifetime in the Peniel/Magnolia community, near Blue Springs, in Dale County. Mrs. Tharpe was a member of the Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Augustus (Gus) Tharpe, a son, James Webster Tharpe, daughter-in-law, Lanett Parmer Tharpe, sister, Willie Mae Muleo, three brothers, Tellis Green, Ben Green and Franklin Green, her grandparents who raised her, George and Lorena Rogers. Surviving relatives include three sons, Roger Tharpe and wife, Jeanette, Blue Springs; Foster Thar-pe and wife, Sandra; Asbury Community; Wendell (Luke) Tharpe and wife, Karlene, Skipperville; a daughter, Marilyn Tharpe and fiance', Dennis Johnson; a sister, Mary Nell Smith and husband, Laverne, Tampa, FL; nine granddaughters, Penny Strickland and husband, Bryan, Tammy Stevens and husband, Tony, Loretta Johnson and Ricky Lowery, Nicole Frysz and husband, Joe, Lisa Tharpe and fi-ance', Thomas Gregg, Amy Burch and husband, Chris, Tiffany Tharpe, Kira Thar-pe and fiance', J. C. Hyde, Kenzie Tharpe; seven great-grandchildren, Tad Dunlap, T.J. Johnson, Kayla Strickland, Chelsie Strickland, Trey Stevens, Alexis Channing Frysz and Jennifer Hughes. Serving as active pall-bearers will be Thomas Gregg, Chris Burch, Tad Dunlap, T.J. Johnson, Ricky Lowery, J. C. Hyde and Jonathan Tharpe. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be John Tharpe, Bryan Tharpe, Mack Tharpe, Jerry Tharpe, Tony Stevens and Trey Stevens.
