Bertha Revell Obituary

Bertha Mae Hart Revell, a resident of Westside Terrace, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Westside Terrace. She was 86. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Philip Harrelson and Joe Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp. Mrs. Revell was born July 13, 1920, in Leon county, Fla., and lived her early life there and in south Florida. She and her husband, the late Rev. William Louia Revell Jr. lived in Bellview, Fla., Jay, Fla., and 45 years in Opp, while they served churches in the Apostolic United Pentecostal Faith. Mrs. Revell operated a day care in her home for over 36 years and influenced hundreds of children's lives over those many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading and cooking for her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. She attended the Apostolic Faith United Pentecostal Church in Dothan. Survivors include a son, Billy (Pat) Revell of Millbrook; two daughters, Donna (Bill) Paramore of Dothan, Linda (Jim) Poitras of Accra Ghana, West Africa; six grandchildren, Lyna (Craig) Sully, Marcus (Leighann) Paramore, Melanie (Neil) Kendrick, Chris (Kerry) Revell, Melinda Poitras and Candra Poitras; six great grandchildren, Jeffrey Sully, Jessica Sully, Bradley Paramore, Cody Paramore, Reed Kendrick and Molly Kendrick; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Marcus Paramore, Chris Revell, Craig Sully, Neil Kendrick, her nephews, Curtis Hart and Carlos Hart, and Jeremy McCoy and Glenn Weeks.
