Billy Railey

Mr. Billy Railey, 72, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Eufaula. Rev. Jerald Hicks and Dr. Ken Bush officiated and burial followed in Fairview Cemetery Addition with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Born July 12, 1943 in Eufaula, Alabama, Mr. Railey was the son of the late John Vickers and Lucy Flo Mitchell Railey. Mr. Railey was a graduate of Eufaula High School where he played basketball and was an All State player in 1962. He attended Gulf Coast Community College where he was an outstanding basketball player. He was a volunteer coach with the Eufaula Parks and Recreation Department for many years. He assisted with coaching girls and boys basketball at the Lakeside School for many years. He worked in the local lumber industry for many years. Mr. Railey is survived by his son: Bill (Mary Dell) Railey of Auburn, AL; his daughter: Jamie Railey of Eufaula, AL; his grandchildren: Farrah Railey, Hayden Railey, AnnaKate Railey; his brother: Lester (Kay) Railey of Eufaula, AL. Active pall bearers were William Walker, Ricky Ward, Randy Jones, Billy Ray Bedsole, Dennis Latham, Charles Bowman, Terry Watson, James "Spunk" Bryant.
