Clarence Grubbs Obituary

Mr. Clarence "Bo" Grubbs, 94, of Midway, Batesville Community, Alabama, died Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 11 A.M., in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Joel Miller officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing. Born May 20, 1924 in Barbour County, Alabama, Mr. Grubbs was the son of the late Joe and Leila May Paul Grubbs. Before retiring from farming, Bo was recognized for the many contributions to Barbour County agriculture by the Barbour County Extension Service. Even though he had retired, he still enjoyed growing watermelons. He would always sell his watermelons by his honor system that consisted of a tin can nailed to his favorite oak tree in his front yard. Bo was an avid hunter of deer, turkey and dove. He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR races. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandkids and supporting his great grandkids from going to baseball, softball and football games to even beauty pageants. He will be missed by many who knew him. Bo was preceded in death by his wife May Bell Grubbs and his son Joe Grubbs. Survivors include 2 grandchildren: Matt (Tammy) Grubbs and Tamara (Jay) Parmer; 5 great grandchildren: Logan and Peyton Grubbs, Mitchell Newton, Maddie and Morgan Grubbs all of Eufaula, Alabama.
