CLARENCE SMILEY Obituary

Clarence Smiley a resident of Dothan, AL died Sunday, August 23,2009 at his home after an extended illness. He was 78. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009, 1:00 P.M. from the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church with General Bishop Earnest Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Gates Of Heaven cemetery with Varner Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2009, 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home chapel. His survivors include: his wife, Elnora Smiley, 15 children,Clarence Jr. (Patricia), Dennis E and Danny (Felicia) Smiley, Lawrence (Dawn), and William Franklin, Steven (Cynthia) Bates, Annie Copeland, Marie Franklin, Brenda (Richard) Fowler, Debra (Jimmy) Morris, Winfred (James) Turner, Denise Grace, Shirley Jean Smiley, Laqunta and Laquand Smiley, 1 sister, Marie McSwain, his extended family, 5 children, Larry (Angela), Robert and Ricky Donald, Adrian, Linder Magwood and Lenora (Steve) Butler,1 daughter-in-law, Betty Sue Donald, 3 sister-in-laws, Lois (James) Burks, Marie (John) Anderson, Mary Helen Harris,extended sister-in-law,Margaret Meadows, 81 grand-children, 66 great-grandchildren,2 great-great -grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ms Nora, i would like to thank you for just being who you are,Rev.SMILEY and you both showed my mother(Daisy Powell)so much love over the year's.They are both together now talking about all those trip's you ALL took to GEORGIA together to church,going to pick pea's and the good old day's.THEY HAVE NO PAIN TODAY JUST THE LOVE OF GOD. We will miss UNCLE BUCK as we called him was truly a wonderful man. Aunt Nora our prayers are with you. I know you will miss him. You showed him how much you loved him. Anytime you all were together love always showed. We were so glad he was able to come the Bar-B Que on the July 4 at Mama' s (His Cousin Callie's House) . We love him and will miss him dearly..
