Corine Althea Spears Corine Althea Spears of Niceville, FL and formerly of the Eden Community passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Twin Cities Hospital, Niceville, FL. She was 101. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Dale Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation. Mrs. Spears was born April 25, 1908 in Geneva County, AL to the late Daniel Thomas and Annie Jane Mims Spears. She grew up in the Eden Community, and was a member of Eden Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Jake Spears (September 19, 1992); four sisters, Ruby Shirah, Annie Will Riley, Berma Stephenson and Merle Wesley; and two brothers, Coley Spears and Buford Spears. Survivors include: her daughter, Sue Ann Panzik of Shalimar, FL; son, Terrel Jake Spears of Aiken, S.C.; sister, Tom Ed Hogan of Geneva; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
