David Plunkett Obituary
David L. Plunkett, 79, passed away January 16, 2022.
The funeral will be a graveside service Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Memory Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Randy Sellers. Glover Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
David was born in Ithaca, NY, attended Auburn University in Montgomery, and served in the US Air Force before settling in Dothan, AL. He was a talented potter and artist and was an active volunteer at Southeast Health. David was a member and past president of New South Cruisers and enjoyed working on and showing his 1968 Firebird.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hall; son, Tony Wilcox; daughter Cindy OBrion (Allen); son David Plunkett (Kelly); grandchildren Patrick OBrion, Katie OBrion, Ben Plunkett, and Brit Carter (Nate); great-grandson, Silas Carter; brothers John Plunkett (Carla) and special brother Dale Plunkett (Charlotte); and his therapy cat, Daphne.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Nativity or to Vaughn-Blumberg Center.

What a honor to have known Mr. Plunkett, both as a pottery teacher and as a guest artist with the Artful Wonders After School Art Program of Geneva. David was truly a gifted, fun, and authentic teacher and colleague. I will carry my learnings from him with gratitude.

Mary Hall, how do I express my sympathy to such a good friend on the loss of her husband and also my friend. I have such fond memories of our years of living next door to ya'll on good old Canterbury. I still miss you. Mike and I still drink coffee out of the cups that David made ever morning.They keep coffee hotter longer than my regular cups. So many memories made over the 17 or 18 years we lived out of each other's back door. My heart goes out to you along with my Sympathy and Prayers. May God give you Peace knowing that even though David is not physically here that he is now resting without pain and that the wonderful memories made by you both can be shared with children, loved ones and friends. RIP in Peace David.
