Dean Craig Obituary
Dean Monroe Craig, age 85, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Monday, December 6, 2021 at Westside Terrace, Dothan, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Chaplain Sonny Moore officiating. All services will conclude at the church. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 A.M.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Jessie Craig; his wife of 49 years, Henri Godrey Craig; his brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Dorothy Craig; his sister, Irene Shiver; his brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, AJ and Jeanette Godrey; Al and Nancy Godfrey; Clint and Betty Kelley; John and Rita Dick.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Enfinger Craig, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Deana Stone (Greg, deceased) Opelika, AL; son, Scot R. Craig (Robyn) Dothan, AL; step-daughters, Cathy McKenzie (Ray) Dothan, AL; Lisa Denmark (Jeff) Graceville, FL; step-son, Tony Enfinger; sister, Alice Spillard (David) Mt. Dora, FL; brother, Russell Craig (Martha) Mt. Verde, FL; grandchildren, Sydni Boyd (Justin); Drew Stone (Leslie); Kendall McFarland (Derek); Chloe Stone; Lindsey Craig; Russell Craig; Danielle Womack (Brandon); Victoria Cowan (Andrew); Trey McNeal (Ginny); Coby McNeal; Brad Nolen; Tanner McKenzie; Adam Parker; Troy Enfinger (Tabitha); Trey Enfinger (Tina); great-grandchildren; Brenn Boyd; Stone Boyd; Timb Stone; Maebry McFarland; Gatlin McFarland; Rylee Rich; Troy Thompson; Braxton Womack; Jade Karis Womack; Lincoln Cowan; Liam Cowan; Chandler McNeal; Ethan Nolen; Brady Nolen; Talon Enfinger; Tucker Enfinger.

Dear Craig Family,
I coached Football with Dean at Lakeview High School in Winter Garden, Florida for ten years. We also had many great fishing trips at John's Lake, Lake Hickory nut, and Twin Lakes with strings of Bass and Bream. Dean was a great coach, good friend, and a Brother in Christ.
When a Child of Light leaves the Earth, the world becomes darker even on a bright sunny day. Beautiful people come in and out of ones life over a lifetime. Other people come in, but they can not take the place of the ones that left. Coach Craig was one of those special people to us. We are thankful and grateful that Dean is a Christian is safe at home with the LORD.

Saddens me that Dean has passed on. I can remember when I was a junior college tennis player at LBW in Andalusia and when we played Enterprise State, I was a handful with a temper at age 18. He once talked to me after a match and told me if I learned to harness all that energy and got that temper under control, I had the potential to be a good player. Never made the tour, but ended up as a sports writer at both The Enterprise Ledger and The Dothan Eagle, and when I had dealings with him and the coaches on staff for their sports, he was the same kind, considerate, thoughtful and articulate gentlemen as always. Rest in Peace Dean.
