I was so shocked to hear about Laura. I mostly remember her from our childhood as girl scouts together. My prayers are with your family.

I just found out about this, when my sister saw the obituary in the paper. At first, I couldn't believe this could be true. My heart sank when I read her name. I knew Laura well in Junior High and some in High school. She was one of the first people I met when I started Junior High, which was a very difficult transition for me. She embraced me immediately, and I was constantly in awe of how kind, beautiful, and talented she was. I remember her smiling and laughing a lot, and now that I think about it, I can still remember how great her laugh was. I also remember her showing me her sketchbook. I was so amazed by her talent! I am very sorry for your loss, and I am praying for your family. God bless.

Charles and I are deeply sorry for your loss. She was beauty as God meant for us to be. What a gentle and kind soul she was, and her smile just radiated her warmth. Our son Keen loved her dearly as we did. She touched our lives, and her spirit will always be with us. May we always celebrate her goodness. May peace be with you, Jenifer and Charles Duke

It has taken some time for me to compose myself enough to write to you about Laura. She had come by to see me at Auburn High School last spring to invite me to an exhibition of pottery in Auburn at the Jan Dempsey art gallery. She was happy and doing what she wanted - making art. Laura was a gifted artist and I pray that the presence of her artwork will comfort you in the days to come. She was gentle, gentle: a beautiful soul. The world is a better place for her coming this way. Please accept my sympathy. I will never forget her.

My favorite thing about Laura was her laugh. I loved to make her laugh, it made my world light up. There were so many things I wanted to say that I'll never have the chance to. You always think there is enough time and there never is. I will miss her always. Laura showed us to live life to the fullest. I will never forget her beautiful smile.

Through the years I have known Laura, the joy and happiness her personality exudes seemed to affect everyone in her presence in a very positive way. Over the years, she and I became close, and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to know her so well. Laura will always be a part of my life. She was such an amazing woman, with so many friends and no enemies. My heart goes out to all of her family and her friends, you are in my prayers.

Jenny, please remember that a lot of us know the emptiness and pain that you feel as you go through the days ahead without your dear sister. I am so sorry to hear about Laura's death. My son, Patrick Hastings, and Laura attended school together from kindergarten on. My elder son, Chris Hastings and Laura became friends. Chris has so many wonderful things he has shared with me about Laura. Among many things he shared, he spoke about her beautiful smile, heart, love of people, love of nature, love of life, and I could go on and on. From the deepest parts of my heart, I am thinking and praying for all of you and Laura.

I feel honored to have had such a bright, yet brief shared existance with Laura. I could not wait to visit Auburn again to see her and her magical tranquil nature spots. She was my festival lady (bonnaroo & langerado). My deepest condolences, she was one of my favorite spirits. I miss her dearly.

You were always an angel in disguise; and now you've simply taken off your mask. Everything you created here in life, all of your art, all that you were, was so beautiful. And the mark you left behind for us was so beautiful. There isn't a soul who knew you that wasn't touched by you. You were our teacher, while you were just being you. I'm just grateful that I can honestly say that every single time I saw you, I reminded you of how beautiful you are. Not a sunrise, sunset, starry night, or foggy mountain view will go by without me seeing you... I love you forever until all the waterfalls fall empty and dry... I just hope that I end up wherever you are, because I have no doubts that place is good. All My Love, KT

Laura was the dearest, sweetest and kindest young woman we have ever known. Her artistic talents knew no boundaries. Laura was such a dear friend and was loved by every person that ever knew her.
In the wake of such a loss, we are haunted by things we don't and may never understand. Yet the solace we seek may never come from answers. So we look for comfort in the belief of God's everlasting love. May His love lift us, hold us close and give us peace. You are in our hearts, sweet Laura and we will always miss you.
Rest in peace, dear Laura.
