We did not see each other often, and we weren't "blood", but I considered Marvin part of my family. Daddy and Mom and Lee thought the world of him and he was loved and respected. May God bless and keep all of you at this time. He would want you to stand tall and keep on biking!!

My name is Angie Barker Grimes and I am Marvin's aunt on his dad's side. I just want you to know how sorry I am for your loss..It has been many years since "Marvie" (as I called him) and I have seen one another.. He lived with me and my mom (his grandmother) for about two years when we were about 14 and 15 years old.. he was a year older than me. We even went to school together for a while..He was so smart.. I got married and left home at 15 and he left also.. I wish we would have kept in touch..I would have loved knowing him as a man.. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time..I hope one day that I can meet his family..I know that words are empty right now but I pray that God will comfort you in your loss..

TO MY BIG BROTHER, ALL OF OUR LIFE WE NEVER HAD ENOUGH TIME TOGETHER, SOMETHING OR SOME ONE WAS ALWAYS KEEPING US APART BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I ALWAYS LOVED YOU AND YOU WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND AND IN MY HEART. I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE SHORT TIME WE HAD TOGETHER AND I'LL ALWAYS HAVE THOSE MEMORIES. THOUGHTS OF YOU STILL MAKE ME SMILE. I WILL MISS YOU AND WILL FOREVER THINK OF YOU. I LOVE YOU STILL. Lori I am so sorry for your loss. Marvin was a wonderful person and he touched many lives. I have many childhood memories of him, he was always doing something to keep us laughing. I spent a great deal of time around him as a child and had not seen him in years, but I loved him just the same. I wish you nothing but the best and if there is anything that my family and I can do to help during this difficult time please call. We love you, you are in our prayers.

I have many joyful memories of Marvin that I hold dearly in my heart. Many weekends as a child I spent with he and Christine, my sister Amy and I were always so excited to get to spend the night with Astra b/c we thought she had the coolest parents in the world LOL. As a child it seemed that she had "any" and "everything" a child could want... including a father who adored her. I will never forget the love that Marvin expressed as a father... Astra you are a very lucky girl to have had a father who loved you like your Daddy did you were his world. We love you and if you need anything please call.

I have worked at Hanchey Army heliport since 2000. During that time it was a pleasure to have Marvin as the avionics technician. He was always quick with a smile, a witty joke, and many times he’d offer up a piece of candy to those he encountered. It just hasn’t been the same without him making the rounds on the flight line lately. He took his job very seriously and I was always comfortable when the “Merlin” was working on my helicopter. I can still hear him say “You sirs be careful” as he drove off in his truck before I would get in my helicopter for the day’s flight. Marvin will definitely be missed by the pilot’s at Hanchey.
