Murray Avery Driggers Murray Avery Driggers of Cowarts passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his residence, following a long illness. He was 76. The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Driggers will be cremated later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wiregrass Food Bank, 382 Twitchell Rd, Dothan, AL 36303, American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 930850, Atlanta, GA 31193 or the American Heart Association, 1101 N. Chase Pky., Marietta, GA 30067. Mr. Driggers was born February 14, 1933 in Jasper, Florida. Following high school graduation, he served ten years in the U. S. Marines. He spent most of his working career as a body maker mechanic. He worked in Puerto Rico for several years before moving to Cowarts where he worked with Farley Nuclear Plant in security. Mr. Driggers was a member of Griffin Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Driggers of Cowarts; son & daughter-in-law, Robert Scott Drig-gers (Gina) of Ashford; two daughters & a son-in-law, Elaine Stanford and Carmen Martin (Ray), all of Dothan; two grandchildren, Jessica Stanford and Hannah Martin, both of Dothan; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger Drig-gers (Donna) of Lakeland, FL; several other family members also survive.
