Mr. Norris Elton Jordan, age 81, a resident of Gordon, died Thursday June 1, 2017 at Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday June 4, 2017 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Adam Habbard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bascom, Florida with Kendall Glover directing. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. prior to services at Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Jordan was born on April 21, 1936 in Houston County the son of Conley Henry Lee Jordan and Elizabeth Lucille Parmer Jordan. He worked with Newton Grocery Company for over 20 years prior to becoming disabled. Mr. Jordan was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom, Florida. He was a Deacon Emeritus. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Effie Lee Mathis Jordan, daughter, Vickie Lee Jordan Lawrence, 2 brothers, Joseph Jordan and Elmer Lee Jordan. Survivors include: 3 daughters, Rita Jordan Ward (Wayne), Rydal, Ga.; Sonja Jordan Cureton (David), Cottonwood; Anita Jordan Murphree (Jimmy), Cowarts; son, Wayne Jordan, Gordon; brother, Virgil Jordan (Vincey), Gordon; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Josh Jordan, Rusty Jordan, Justin Jordan, Phillip Stitt, Colby Murphree, Haisten Murphree and Jamie Lawrence.
