Quay Rodney Kyser of New Brockton, AL went to heaven on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his home. He was 84. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at El Bethel Assembly of God in New Brockton with Pastor Steven Comer Officiating. Burial will follow at Old Tabernacle cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until the service. Quay was born August 13, 1933, in Coffee County. He retired with Sikorsky Aircraft after 39 years of service in aviation maintenance. Quay will be remembered for the love of his family, the Old Tabernacle Community where he grew up and spent his life, his love for gospel music and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mace and Nettie Kyser; son-in-law, Rodney Davis; sisters: Jewel Hornsby, Ennis Gibson and Elna Lightfoot; brothers, Baker and Charles. Survivors include his wife, Sara Carr Kyser; daughters: Julie Yanuzzi (Joe) of Binghamton, NY and Janet Davis of New Brockton, AL; son Curtis Kyser (Sharon) of Hoover, AL; grandchildren: Gabriel Davis (Carrie) of New Brockton, AL, Medaria Chang (Young) of Enterprise, AL, Susan McDonald (Jeff) of Sellersville, PA, Joey Yanuzzi (Christen) of Williamsburg, VA, Emily Kyser Prince (Jonathan) of Chelsea, AL; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
