Rev. Ralph Lee Summerlin, 89, of Moultrie, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Lakeside Assembly of God with the Rev. Shelvie Summerlin, Rev. Bobby Tatum and the Rev. Corey Shiver officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie, GA. Casket bearers will be Josh Lawrence, John E. Smith, John Summerlin, Scott Summerlin, Chris Summerlin and Gary Ben Summerlin. Honorary Casket bearers will be the Board of Directors of Provident Investment Corporation. Born July 22, 1926 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Dewey Lee Summerlin and Tommie Dell Crook Summerlin. He was a minister, with his loving wife by his side, with the Assembly of God faith for 60 years and also during his ministry he built five churches within the state of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Brown Summerlin of 62 years; a sister, Nadine Leonard; a sister-in-law, Brenda Summerlin; a brother-in-law, Bufourd Clanton. Survivors include three children, Pat Lawrence of Dothan, AL, Melba Holland and husband Joe of Augusta, GA and Martha "Mott" Smith and husband John of Dothan, AL; eight grandchildren, Jeff Korhonen, Julie Korhonen, Josh Lawrence, Lindsey Johnson, Mindy Pritchard, Crystal Williford, Jeremy Singletary and Ben Singletary; five great-grandchildren, Lexi Lawrence, Kylie Pritchard, Luke Lawrence, Jacob Johnson and Jackson Pritchard; four brothers, Rev. Shelvie Summerlin and Myrtle of Moultrie, Bertice Summerlin and Margaret of Macon, Lynn Summerlin, Ben Summerlin and Sandy all of Moultrie; a sister Louise Clanton of Macon; a brother-in-law, Gene Leonard of Garden Grove, CA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at Lakeside Assembly of God. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
