Willis Floyd Obituary
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, Headland, with the Rev. J.Q. Corbitt officiating. The body will be in the church one hour before time for the funeral.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie mae Daniels Floyd; father, Frank (Capp) Floyd; mother, Pearla Brown Floyd; and two brothers.
Survivors include five children, Marvie Jean (Darius) Ferrell, Fayetteville, N.C., Marvine (Willie) Williams, Kinsey, Willie Oscar (Catherine) Humphrey, Headland, Nell Brantley, Headland, Frankie (Rose) Floyd, Dothan; one sister, Bernice Floyd, Ozark; sisters-in-law, Corine Daniels and Rosie Reeves, Headland; brother-in-law, jay Daniels, Panama City, Fla.; one aunt, Era Floyd, Dothan; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.

my condolences to the floyd family. i got to know and love mr. willis after moving over on lindsay st. he was not only a good neighbor but a wonderful person overall. i will always remember that smile. so to the family just keep his memories in your hearts and look to God for your strength. our prayers are with you.

FRANKIE AND NELL I KNOW OUR LIVES HAVE TAKEN DIFFERENT TURNS WE NOW HAVE FAMILIES TO CARE FOR.BUT THE FOND MEMORIES STILL LIVES ON. I REMEMBER VISITING YOU ALL HOME WHEN I WAS VERY YOUNG AND I SEEN THE LOVE THAT YOU ALL HAD WITH YOUR PARENTS. IN HIS LAST YEARS WHEN HE WAS GETTING AROUND I WOULD SEE HIM AT THE DOLLAR STORE AND WE WOULD TALK I LOVED TALKING TO HIM WE ALL WILL MISS HIM BUT JUST KNOW THIS THAT WHAT YOU FEEL NOW WON'T BE FOREVER GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH YOU WON'T FORGET BUT GOD WILL SOOTHE YOUR PAIN I KNOW BECAUSE HE SOOTHE MINE.
