Kenneth Flatt Obituary
Kenneth served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Following his service, he earned an associate's degree in stationary engineering from Dundalk Community College. Kenneth went on to have a distinguished career, retiring as the Public Utilities Director for the Dare County Water Department. He was also a licensed electrician, a skill he took great pride in.
Away from work, Kenneth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling, relishing the opportunity to explore new places and share these adventures with his loved ones. He truly loved cooking, gardening, and working around the house.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Lynn Flatt; daughters, Carson Lynn Flatt and her fiancé Bryce Froderman of Nashville, TN, and Blair Katherine Flatt and her fiancé Ernest Morrison of Charlotte, NC; his son, Eric Charles Flatt of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and his cherished grandson, Riley Levi Morrison of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vivian Ruth Martin Flatt and Kenneth Flatt.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo, NC, with Pastor Stephen Wescott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The V Foundation for Cancer Research by supporting the Kenneth Flatt Memorial Fund (14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513 or online at https://vfoundation.donordrive.com/campaign/KenFlattMemorial).
Kenneth will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
