Jimmy Albertson Obituary
Jimmy Garrison Albertson
PERRY, GA - Jimmy Garrison Albertson, 90, of Perry, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Born on August 5, 1935, in Richlands, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late James and Eva Belle (Rouse) Albertson.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jimmy dedicated his life to service and retired honorably after a distinguished career. Beyond his military achievements, he was a man of deep devotion-to his country, his faith, and most importantly, his family.
Jimmy was married to the love of his life, the late Phyllis Ann (Humphrey) Albertson, for 57 wonderful years. Their marriage was a true testament to love and commitment, and he remained a devoted husband to her until her passing.
A man of many talents and passions, Jimmy enjoyed gardening, woodworking, painting, and playing golf. He had a deep appreciation for music, especially the soulful sound of the saxophone. A lifelong learner and historian at heart, he was passionate about genealogy and spent countless hours tracing his family's roots. A devoted Christian, Jimmy found great comfort in reading the Bible and living out his faith daily.
More than anything else, Jimmy loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a constant source of love, wisdom, and steady support for those who knew and loved him.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, his cherished wife Phyllis, grandsons Matthew and Andrew, his brothers Leslie Albertson, and Allen Albertson, sister Patricia Horner.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Evelyn Davidson and her husband Wes; grandsons Joshua and his wife Alana, and Michael and his wife Katie; and great-grandchildren Reese, Bennett, and Owen. He is also survived by his daughter Lynne Dopko and her husband Matt; granddaughter Sarah Scheffel and her husband Scot; and great-grandsons Thomas, Isaac, and Samuel. His daughter Merry Develle and her husband Glenn also survive him, along with grandsons Jordan, Caleb, and Micah; brother William Albertson; and cousin Charlie Albertson.
A service honoring Jimmy's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2025, in the chapel of Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor David Miller will officiate.
Jimmy will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:00am at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
Though he is no longer with us, the legacy of Jimmy Garrison Albertson-a life marked by love, faith, and service-will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
