Matthew Balko Obituary
Mesquite - Matthew Blair Balko, age 54, died Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born July 31, 1966 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Robert Arnold and Marcia Claudette Bastien Balko.
Matt lived most of his life along the rivers south of Detroit, Michigan. He attended Smith Howard Broadcasting School and later attended a plumbing trade school. He worked various jobs in Michigan before moving to St. George, Utah in 2006 and finally to Mesquite in 2015. He worked as an engineer at the Virgin River Hotel. Matt loved the outdoors and nature. He loved the flowers, bird watching and replicate many different bird sounds.
Survivors include his mother, Marcia (Ron) Chase of St. George, UT; his companion, Kristina Melle and her children, Tyler Norton and Kaylee Griffith; one sister, Alecia (Thomas) Maxey of Franklin, MI and one brother, Steven Balko of TN.
The family is postponing memorial services to a later date.
