Resident of Concord
Fran Ruby died November 29, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Harold "Hal" Ruby, her children Pam Herrenkohl (Mark), Karen Ruby and Kevin Ruby, grandsons Chris and Corey Herrenkohl, great granddaughter Julia Roberts and many friends.
She grew up in Alameda, CA and was a longtime resident of Concord. She was active in many dog clubs and rescue groups including Mt. Diablo Dog Training Club, Diablo Valley German Shepherd Dog Club, and German Shepherd Dog rescues.
A celebration of her life is being planned for January 25, 2015. Please contact the family for details. Her family would like to thank her friends for all of their love and support. Donations may be made in her name to an animal rescue group of your choice.

I only met Fran a few times, but I know the difference that her daughter Pam and family have made in the lives of others. Pam and Mark have raised two fine boys and selflessly gave a home to Julia. They are raising her as their granddaughter and giving her all the love and advantages to become a fine lady like her daughter Pam. You have raised an Angel in Pam and make the world a better place Fran. Thank you and may God bless and comfort your husband and family
