Donald James Lee, 83, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Livermore, Californiasurrounded by his family.

Don was a devoted husband, married to his beloved wife, Connie Lee, for nearly 64 years.Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. He was a proud father to his sixchildren: Tammy (Mark), Loren (Kristin), Darren (Debbie), Lora (Brady), Steve (Jodi), andAaron (Anne). He was the grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each ofwhom brought him tremendous joy.

Don is also survived by his sister Lynda Ferreira (Frank Ferreira) as well as many friends andextended family members who will miss him dearly. His parents Opal and Jim and olderbrother Richard have proceeded him in death.

Don graduated from Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek where he developed lifelongfriendships. He participated in sports, journalism and the cheer squad. Don went on to earn aBachelor of Arts degree from USF and a Master's degree in Communications & Managementfrom Cal Poly Pomona. He was among the first in the nation to graduate from the CaliforniaLaw Enforcement Command College. Don executed several programs during his career thatincreased safety and decreased crime proving to build trust between the community and lawenforcement. He dedicated 33 years to the Livermore Police Department, retiring as aLieutenant. His integrity, steady leadership, and commitment to the community earned himdeep respect. During his law enforcement career, he taught at Del Valle Continuation HighSchool, where he believed strongly in investing in young people and offering second chances.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Don lived his beliefsthrough quiet service and devotion to his family. He was a lifelong student of religious andsecular history. He loved visiting museums and historical sites especially if they related to theGreat USA. He received many faith building experiences throughout his life confirming hisbelief in God. He often said he wouldn't be where he is today without the influence of God'sstandards, teachings and direction throughout his life.

Don was a master chef in the kitchen when it came to making soups, chili beans, holiday dipsand classic potato salad everyone raved about. He had several hobbies including Photography,Gardening and was a Bee Keeper for several years. The ocean and walking through theredwoods in Northern California brought him tranquility and peace. He cherished visitingnational parks, where he found joy in both their beauty and their history.

Don had a remarkable gift for connection - he could make friends anywhere he went. His vastknowledge on versed topics and facts allowed him to connect with people of all ages and walksof life. His genuine interest in others made people feel seen and valued.

He will be remembered for his faith in God, his deep commitment and loyalty to his wife andfamily. His legacy lives on through the generations he so dearly cherished.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (Viewing at 9:15-9:45am) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1501 Hillcrest Avenue, Livermore, CA. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
