Gordon Ames Dotson

GORDON AMES DOTSON A resident of Hayward for 57 years, passed away peacefully at Eden Hospital on December 30, 2004. Beloved husband of Betty R. Dotson, a marriage spanning 57 wonderful years. Devoted father of Bonnie Dotson, Terry LeBaron, both of Hayward, and Gary Dotson of San Ramon. Loving brother of Phyllis Green of Castro Valley, Calif., and Vannie Jellision of Paradise, Calif. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and 4 nephews, and many loving friends. Gordon served with great pride during World War II as a boatswain mate and boat coxswain in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. As a builder, he was involved in numerous construction projects in the Hayward and Castro Valley area over the years. His family remembers him as a loving, caring and devoted father. He always enjoyed sharing time with family and friends at the family cabin. A devoted fisherman regardless of whether mountain streams, lakes or the coastal waters. Fishing was part of his soul and heart. Gordon was a member of Disabled Veterans of America for many years. Though we will miss Gordon as our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, our memories of his joy for life will last forever as he remains in our thoughts and prayers.
