Helen Christensen Obituary

HELEN LOUISE CHRISTENSEN Helen L. Christensen went peacefully into the arms of her Saviour on March 4, 2003. Helen was born February 8, 1926 in Adair County, Iowa to Reuben and Johanna Minnieanna Peterson. She also lived in Colorado. She got married in Gatesville, Texas in 1945 and moved to Centerville which is now Fremont, CA and raised her three daughters and worked part-time at the school cafeteria so she could be home with her girls. She loved watching clouds, the color blue, hummingbirds, traveling, and crocheting, which she accomplished mostly by feel because of limited sight. She was witty and strong, surviving lung cancer just four years ago. Everyone just loved her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leland G. Christensen who passed away in 1992 and her beautiful granddaughter Melissa Brockington. She is survived by her daughters; Rhonda Brockington and her husband, Dick of Washington State, Rene' Walden of Fremont, and Vickie Christensen and her husband, Perry McLain of Cameron Park, and her two grandchildren, David Brockington and Jennifer LaMarche. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, March 8th at Light of The Hills Lutheran Church, 3100 Rodeo Road, Shingle Springs with Pastor Alan Sommer, officiating. She will be buried with her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on March 12th at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow the Saturday, March 8th service. Helen,

You have always been my "favorite Aunt", a great lady. John and I enjoyed our visits with you so much. While I know you are in a better place with Uncle Lee and now in great peace, I miss you terribly and always will. I am honored to be your loving niece....

Love, Cathie

Mom, when you passed I not only lost my Mother, but a best friend. I feel with certainty, Pop and Melissa are guiding you as Pop did for Melissa. I will always love you with all my heart and miss you immensely until I once again see you in heaven.
