In 1954 Joe introduced himself to me and a bunch of my friends, we were all twelve years old. He gave us football tips, gifted us with tickets to a home game and revealed himself to be more than a professional football player, he showed us his humanity and his love of the game. I shall treasure that day for the rest of my life. Thank you Joe. Joseph Tamez, Moss Beach, CA.

My condolences to the Perry Family on their loss. We not only lost a great athlete but a great man. I remember Joe "The Jet" Perry during the time I was in high school. He was certainly a great role model for many of us AFrican-American kids because we did not have too many athletes to emulate. May God be with his family during their hours of grief.

Mr. Perry will be greatly missed. He is

To the Perry Family,
Joe "The Jet" was one of the all time greats on and off the field. He was a true sportsman and a fabulous athlete. The SF 49ers were blessed to have him on their outstanding team. As a boy, selling peanuts at Kezar Stadium, I enjoyed watching Joe grace the gridiron. I still have those memories. With deepest sympathies to Joe's family.

I was stationed at 100 Harrison in San Francisco @ the U S Marine Corps Depot of Supplies, and the Department of the Pacilic from March 1953 to July 1955. The 49ers were my first pro team and I saw Joe Perry the first time in 1952 at a Los Angels Rams game. What a team and what a man was "The Jet". I remember all the players mentioned and some not mention.God Bless the Pery family.

To the Perry Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. The death of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a person can face. Be assured that you are not alone in your grief. I find much comfort from the Bible where it assures us that "Our Heavenly Father will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more." Recalling happy memories of the times you had together will help you to keep smiles on your faces and joy in your hearts.

Joe "The Jet" was my first hero as a kid growing up in San Francisco. I remember one day at a game against the Cleveland Browns a Filpino man stood up and yelled out: "Give the ball to Perry and he will run for a touchdown."
Well now Joe Perry will be carrying the ball for the BIG TEAM, and he will be running for many more touchdowns.
Yes, the Jet will be flying in Heaven.
God bless the Jet and his Family.

What a marvelous runner. I was priviledged to see Joe and Hugh and Title and John Henry at Kezar in the 50s. . When they lined up for a play one knew the red shirts were going to sparkle. Fast, shifty and tough, he had it all. (Brian Mccarthy, Mission Beaqch)
