Born on July 29, 1928 in Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland to Ralph and Mary McMullan. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 14, 2017 at Bruns House, Hospice of the East Bay in Alamo. Beloved father of Deirdre Serena, Una Adkins, Ralph McMullan, and Brendan McMullan; grandfather of Gavin Ashwell, Nicole Ashwell, Connor Adkins, Kylie Adkins, and Christine Goins; brother of Brendan McMullan, Frank McMullan, Eugene McMullan, and Sheila O'Neill (surviving); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Sally McKibbin McMullan, sister Maureen Murray, brothers Msgr. Seamus McMullan, Patsy McMullan and Kieran McMullan.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, November 16, from 5 to 9 p.m. and a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel; Funeral Mass on Friday, November 17, at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Walnut Creek on; Interment on Saturday the 18th at noon at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bruns House, Hospice of the East Bay.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Sean. He truly was a man for all seasons: caring, humorous, intellectual, and above all, loving. Our heartfelt sympathies to his family - Ralph, Deirdre, Una, Brendan and their spouses and children.
We were fortunate to have had Sean touch our lives. He will be missed. Rest in peace friend.
