I knew Linda in high school but only connected a few times after that at our periodic reunions. She was a great person to know then, when we were all so very young. Looks like she had a wonderful, fulfilling life and that is about the best one can say about anyone. My prayers to her family and friends.

In 1986/87 I was a very raw new librarian. It was a joy to work with Linda Duncan. Since it was not known if I would be assigned out to a branch as a Children or Young Adult Librarian I had to do programing and other tasks for each group while at the Pleasant Hill Library. Linda helped me lose the fear of programming, taught me to do a bulletin board in the childrens department, helped me choose stories to read to children and answer children's questions.
Thank you Linda for the guidance and encouragement.
Thank you for your smilesand jokes.
You will be missed by many but your memory will live on.

Linda was an inspiration for so many of us who had the opportunity to work with her at the Contra Costa County Library. The children of Contra Costa were richly benefited by the wonderful work Linda did at the library. My memories of Linda are not just of her great work but of her wonderful sense of humor. How many times did Linda make me laugh! We shared stories of our daughters growing up and had lots of laughs over them. Linda's love and compassion was so important to me over the past year and I loved her for it. My thoughts and love go out to Jim and Sarah.

Linda was such a dear friend to me. I will miss her always. She cared so much about other people. She loved to laugh and have a good time. I loved how she always looked at the funny side of things. I also loved how she took life by the horns and ran with it. She is my inspiration on how to live a full life. Laugh, love your friends and family, eat good food, don't take things too seriously, and travel. She will always have a special place in my heart.

I never knew what to expect when working in the same library as Linda and Jim. They were always up to something--and Linda was definitely the "idea" person. Linda and I kept in touch over the years and she never stopped moving or enjoying a good laugh. She will always be missed.

We were friends since we were 14, from our high school antics through planning our retirements. I will always miss Linda.

I had the honor of working with Linda for ten years. Before that it was always lovely to see her at the children's desk. She'll be missed.
