Mary Belle (McKeon) Morley passed away in Pleasanton, California on
Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the age of 87. Mary was born in San Francisco on
July 5, 1927 to Redmond O'Connor McKeon and Elizabeth (Long) McKeon. She graduated from San Leandro High School in 1945 and from the University of California, Berkeley in 1949. Mary married Ellsworth Lloyd (Moe) Morley in 1949 and raised four daughters, Kathleen Morley, Eileen (Morley) Hofstadt, Maureen Morley, and Laureen Morley. Mary and Moe moved their young family to Pleasanton in 1964 and were members of St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Mary was a floral designer early in her career and contributed her skills to the creation of many City of Pleasanton events in the 1970s. She also served as the floral arrangement judge for the Pleasanton Rose Show, led cooking classes for Golden 4H Club, and taught flower arranging for the Pleasanton Recreation Department.
Moe preceded Mary in death in 1986; she is survived by her four daughters.
Mary was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California on March 13 in a private family service. A community mass and reception will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to your favorite nature conservancy in memory of Mary.
